The Perfect Guide For Moms Who Need A Break

The Perfect Guide For Moms Who Need A Break

I am proud of you. You do everything you can, go to lengths beyond imaginable, and sacrifice so much for your kid(s).

Moms truly are angels in disguise. We are what makes our house a home, we hold the foundation that has built your family.

We are raising the next generation. We are pretty much super-heroes. And yes, dads you are amazing too-

When you think of a perfect day, what do you imagine? Me, I imagine a day with my son. Which is a great thing, and I love days with him. But, if I could have one day to myself, or even a few hours, what would I do? Ask yourself that. These are the perfect things you need to feel like you are more then just a mom-

  • Have a girls day/night. And do not feel guilty about it. If you want to go get a drink with your gals, go on momma. Live your best and know your kids are just fine!

The first year I had my son, I thought everyone would judge me if I went out one night with friends, and they did. Everyone will always have something to say, but you don’t always have to acknowledge it. Easier said then done, I know. Then I thought, oh well, because if people want to judge me that badly, they will find something else to pick at. So I might as well enjoy it!

  • Take A Drive and Unwind. It’s the best therapy for me. Driving just to drive, not having any motive on going anywhere and playing my favorite playlist without a screaming child is ah-ma-zing. And if you don’t drive, take an evening walk. Even if you don’t like to walk, do it. Get your earbuds, enjoy fresh air and breathe.

Walking is therapeutic. It’s the perfect time to gather thoughts, or just get some things off of your mind. If you’ve never done it, do it. And don’t look at it as just ‘walking’ try thinking of it being a getaway.

  • This is my favorite… I call it, do whatever he!! you want. Yep, that’s right. I can tell you to go get your nails done, a massage or a spa day, everything you usually hear, but I’m telling you that you are important. Your happiness and your needs are still a priority. You are aloud to do whatever you want, momma.

Being a mom is one of the toughest yet rewarding jobs, while we are so busy making sure our children are happy, we loose ourselves in the midst of that. Which is why you need mom time.

People often think us moms, or even dads, can’t do whatever we want because we have a child. Which there are limits to what you shouldn’t do (im talking about illegal things), but no. We can all do whatever we want to do.

And no, you shouldn’t feel guilty about it. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel guilty about it either. Moms have to be happy too! You deserve happiness, and you deserve a day to not only get a break, but to remember who you are. Just because you’re a mom, doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun. Your children don’t want a perfect mom, they want a happy one.
