Starting a blog can be a very personal thing, depending on your niche you choose.
Wether it’s lifestyle, parenting, fitness whatever it may be, you need to get personal to create a bond with your audience. Sometimes, it’s hard to share some of your personal life, especially where the entire media can see it. Of course you don’t have to share your darkest secrets, but you have to give your audience a part of you in order for them to find the connection to you.
Something people won’t admit is how hard it can be, especially whenever you are insecure.
Writing is scary, at least for me anyways. The fear of being judged if you aren’t doing it the right way, maybe you aren’t the best with sentence structure or you don’t have the best vocabulary, the fear of miserably falling on your face weighs on you constantly.
When you are a beginner, it can take months or even 1-2 years before you have the traffic you want, and often times you will wonder ‘what am I doing wrong?’
And once you do get your website up, some blogs posted, the wondering if your posts are good enough, if your website is ‘professional’ enough or if you’ve used the right keywords, always wanting to go back and edit something, it’s like a constant battle everyday and the wondering drives you nuts…
If you let it. Don’t get so consumed and make it harder on yourself! I know it can be easier said then done, but you can’t really mess up blogging, but what you can mess up is letting your inner thoughts get the best of you, giving up is not the answer.
Starting from absolute scratch is tricky. Not knowing anything about SEO, how to build a website, or how to even begin a blog post is actually pretty scary. Researching and teaching yourself all that you can helps, but there is always that feeling in your stomach that turns every time you think about failing.
It is okay. Every single blogger has been there.
I am no where near where I want to be, slowly each day I learn a little more, get a few more followers on my social media, and gain a little bit more confidence, and you will to.
It is completely normal to feel all of these feelings. Don’t feel discouraged, keep researching and learning new techniques, you will get there. It’s almost like a test in school; the more you study and practice, the better you will do.
Just know, everyone has been in your shoes and has felt the same feelings that you are feeling. I’m not sure why, but knowing that makes me feel more determined and pushes me harder everyday.
